Legal Issues at Start-Up

For most computer consultants, this is their first adventure in the business world, and the legal issues at start-up can be confusing and overwhelming. There are two major issues that should be discussed with an attorney during this time.

Business Type

First of all, you will need to determine which business type to use. Spend your time and money well talking to a lawyer about all your options and all the legal ramifications of each. You may also want to consult an accountant to discuss the tax laws controlling your business type.

Agreements and Contracts

You will want to make sure that any agreements or contracts used are legally sound and binding. Make sure your attorney looks over all the contracts to determine their ramifications and any issues that could occur.
