New HP Tool Assesses Disaster Preparedness

After last year's hurricane season, most businesses finally came to their senses about disaster preparedness, but how long did their concern really last? Are you actually prepared for a disaster or did you forget about the dangers after awhile?

For those who aren't sure whether they're prepared, Hewlett-Packard has released a free disaster preparedness indicator tool. It helps businesses understand their level of disaster preparedness so that they can make the right decisions about their future.

John Copenhaver, president and CEO of the Disaster Recovery Institute International, said, "No organization can fully prepare for every possible catastrophe, but those that do and regularly test their business continuity and availability plans are keeping the odds in their favor."

HP’s worldwide director of business continuity and availability solutions, John Bennett, added, "In the face of a host of ongoing threats and risks, companies are challenged to develop resilient solutions that balance evolving business needs. HP's solutions help customers prevent downtime and quickly recover from disruptions while providing ongoing protection of their critical business processes."
