Twelve Technologies We Can Do Without? You know?

Cell phones and computers are necessities these days. But there are certain technologies, like a digital photo urn and video game controlled by urine, that we can absolutely live without.

Clean air, water, shelter—these are considered the necessities of life. Then there are the staples of life that a person requires in order to be happy. For me, that's American Idol , sushi, horror films, and hugs. (Hey, I like to feel loved.) When it comes to technology, however, there's a thin line between what's needed and what's considered a luxury. I, for one, have to have my cell phone, computer, iPod , camera, and DVR. I use them weekly, if not daily.
But a digital photo urn, boombox on wheels, and video game controlled by urine are technologies that we can all live without. See if you agree with me by checking out this list of 12 unpractical technologies.

Here are two products featured in today's 12 Technologies We Can Do Without slideshow:
Music Box On Wheels
Remember the days when you'd rest your boombox atop your shoulder, walking through the streets thinking you were the coolest thing since sliced bread? Yeah, thank goodness that isn't cool anymore. But someone apparently doesn't want to let go of the eighties, with the Music Box On Wheels concept. Crafted by Israeli designer Inbal Tyagi, this rollable boombox was inspired by the Hula Hoop, though I'm not completely sure how. The idea is to "roll" to your music—while looking like a complete idiot, that is.

Place to Pee Video Game
Do I even need to explain why we don't need this technology? Nevertheless, two Belgium men have designed Place to Pee, a video game that is played—where else?—in public bathrooms. Werner Dupont and Bart Geraets created two different gaming modes: Ski Race, where two players (or shall I say "pee-ers") compete against one another on a virtual slalom course, and Space Battle, in which two players fight aliens. To control gameplay, the gamers must hit the sensors in the urinals. And they say women spend too much time in the bathroom…
