As reported here today, the Virgin Group's Sir Richard Branson plans to leverage the technology of X Prize frontrunner SpaceShipOne for commercial suboribtal flights. However, there's more news on the X Prize front to report:
- As reported in Wired, the Da Vinci Project, a Canadian group of X Prize contenders, scrubbed its launch planned for Oct. 2.
- Space Transport Corp. is planning a launch of its Rubicon 2 craft in October. In August, Rubicon 1 crashed shortly after takeoff.
- SpaceShipOne is set for a second flight next week.
