IBM has announced that they have developed several chip to speed up wireless data transfer. Wireless networks will be able to transmit data more quickly with the newly developed chips by using a portion of the radio spectrum.
These new chips may be useful for quickly transmitting high-definition video from a DVD player to a television. They could also be used to download photos through a wireless connection.
Although IBM did not release the names of prospective companies, they did say that several electronics companies are deciding whether to use the chips.
